They say it takes 21 repetitions to form a habit. Well, for the last 60 days (approximately) I had been in the habit of working my day around the sewing and crafting required to make the deadline to provide handmade gifts to the kids of Edmarc Hospice. Habit formed.
Now the picnic is over and, while I do have other projects on the horizon, they certainly don’t warrant arranging my whole day around when I can accomplish them. But I still feel like my brain is going a thousand miles a minute, and, even after making close to 50 superhero capes myself, I have awakened the seamstress within and every day she cries Sew! Create! Buy more fabric!
Anyway, all that to say, I need to find my groove again. The normal groove where my bathroom actually gets cleaned and our kitchen table can be used for eating dinner instead of being eternally littered with fabric scraps and shreds of threads. And, I have discovered that I love to sew. Really. One night, after an entire day of sewing, I still sat behind my machine to hammer out a different project. It’s so fun. To me, at least.
I appreciate so much your patience with me over the last couple of months. Lots of things have been pushed to the curb, this blog included. But this week I am trying to get back on track. That is, if I can keep my creative juices contained … 🙂
A little sewing project I did last night. It is the Hulk, my kiddo’s favorite avenger … at least when his favorite isn’t Tap’n Amedica or Ion Man … and not the Jolly Green Giant, as my husband thought. :/
